Two people were killed and 56 others injured in a hospital fire in a region south of South Korea's capital Seoul on Friday, Yonhap reported, citing officials.

The fire broke out at a hospital in Goheung, 473 kilometers south of Seoul, at 3:34 a.m., local time. The fire was extinguished at 6:01 a.m., according to the report.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
