Under coronavirus lockdown, UK photographer JJ Waller launched a project in March capturing people behind window panes or closed glass doors. /VCG
He put up a post across social media asking people to volunteer as subjects for his project. /VCG
According to the photographer, he used the daily personal exercise time allowed by the government to pursue the project, which means he only got a few minutes to take pictures of individuals and families by their doors or windows. /VCG
"I hope that the images will play a role in helping people in the future gain some insight into what we experienced during the pandemic." /VCG
He has published the images collectively as a photography book "Lockdown: Informal Portraits of this Time," documenting "hope and fear in the face of crisis." /VCG
