Two national museums, including a heritage park, will be built in central China's Henan Province this year, local authorities announced last week.
The Yellow River National Museum will be a comprehensive museum to display the geography, humanity and history of the Yellow River region. Dahe Village National Archaeological Park will not only systematically present the relics of the Yangshao Culture (5000-3000 B.C.) period, but also depict a panoramic view of life over 6,000 years ago.
The Yellow River National Museum will be divided into four major zones - nature, culture, regulation of the Yellow River and experience area - according to the design plan.

Upon completion, Dahe Village National Archaeological Park will be the largest heritage park and museum in the province, said Dai Jianzeng, deputy director of Zhengzhou City River Village Ruins Museum.
The existing Zhengzhou City River Village Ruins Museum only showcases a part of the culture 3,500-6,800 years ago, but the new park will give a full picture of the residential area, central square, pottery-making area, burial area and other areas from that period.
The new museum is located by a wetland, and surrounded by aquatic plants. Archaeological findings show that the area of Dahe Village at that time was rich in water grass, according to Dai, so designers recreated the city near the water to give visitors a better sense of the ancient time.

It is fair to say that if you want to see the Yangshao culture in person, the Dahe Village National Archeological Park is your place to go, said Dai.
"The Yangshao Culture in Dahe Village is very important in terms of its sequential integrity. It played a significant role in Yangshao Culture or the culture at that time. After the site park is completed, I believe it will be the pride for Henan people," he added.
