Over 16,000 more soldiers deployed to fight floods in east China

Over 16,000 more soldiers from the Eastern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) have arrived on Tuesday in the eastern part of China's Jiangxi Province for flood control and emergency rescue operations, according to the Chinese military.

As of Tuesday night, there have been over 23,000 army soldiers from the PLA Eastern Theater Command battling floods in areas along the the Yangtze River and Poyang Lake.
