The injury-ravaged Nanjing Monkey Kings handed the Shanxi Loongs their fourth consecutive loss, winning 115-100 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Wednesday.

Joseph Young, who had marked the third-highest personal single-game scoring show in CBA history with 74 points in his last match, took a game-high 57 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals for Nanjing.

"The players were dedicated to the game and got many points in fast breaks. Our defense was much better than the last match," said Nanjing coach Cui Wanjun after the game.

"We scored 38 points in the first quarter, but the players were under great pressure when Nanjing gained the lead instead, and missed out many open shots," rued Wang Fei, coach of Shanxi.

Meanwhile, guard Wu Qian was one rebound away from collecting triple-double, helping the all-Chinese Zhejiang Golden Bulls crush the Fujian Sturgeons 136-107, ending the Sturgeons' five-game winning streak.

Wu had 32 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds.

A big first-quarter lead helped Qingdao Eagles edge Tianjin Pioneers 113-108 at home. This is Tianjin's 12th consecutive loss since the CBA resumption, which means Tianjin had lost all games since the restart last month, the worst in the league.

Another two games on Wednesday saw a fierce fight between Beijing Royal Fighters and Xinjiang Flying Tigers, with the latter taking its sixth straight win with 104-86, while Jilin Northeast Tigers lost to Liaoning Flying Leopards 118-125 in the derby in northeast China.
