CBA highlights on July 16: Can anyone stop Guangdong from winning?

The Guangdong Southern Tigers on Thursday night claimed their 26th straight win this season after beating the Zhejiang Lions 104-97, matching the longest winning streak record in CBA history kept by themselves in the 2014-15 season. Sonny Weems scored court-high 25 points plus 10 rebounds for Guangdong. His teammate Yi Jianlian went 5-7 but shot 10 free throws to get 16 points and 12 rebounds.

The Beijing Ducks achieved the seventh win in a row after defeating the Shenzhen Aviators 90-81. Jeremy Lin shot down game-high 29 points in the second straight game. While happy for their team's great performance, fans of the Ducks came up with an interesting rule. Since the CBA restart, the Ducks won all the games in which Lin shot more than 10 times.

The two CBA teams that were already ruled out of the playoffs this season, the Guangzhou Loong Lions and the Jiangsu Dragons put up a close game in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province on Thursday. Foreign aids of the two sides, Marcus Hunter and Antonio Blakeney, drew the most attention with their incredible performances on the court. In the end, Hunter, who dropped 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists helped Guangzhou beat Jiangsu 107-100 despite Blakeney's 46 points, 12 rebounds.
