Heavy rains have been battering Wuxi County in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality since Tuesday evening, swelling rivers and flooding many towns.

The surging Daning River damaged some sheds at a mixing plant for the under-construction Wuzhen expressway. The flood ran through the plant, breaching a cement retaining wall, and inundating about 200 square meters of factory space. The damage will prevent production from resuming for at least half a month. All the personnel at the station were evacuated. 

Besides Daning, Houxi and Dongxi rivers have been affected by heavy rains as well.
