A major fire broke out inside a cathedral in the western French city of Nantes. Smoke rose as dozens of firefighters battled the blaze at the Cathedral of St. Peter and St Paul. Its construction was started in the 15th century. Fire crews were alerted just before 8:00 a.m. local time. The Gothic structure was last hit by fire in 1972. Its roof took more than 13 years to repair. The fire is now contained.
