Will EU countries take a similar line after UK's ban on Huawei?

U.S. National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien held talks with European officials in Paris this week, with 5G networks on the agenda. 

In many EU countries, Huawei remains closely involved in both existing 4G networks and planned 5G rollouts. Many EU countries have opted for a relatively moderate stance. The head of France's cybersecurity authority has ruled out a total ban on Huawei. And Huawei's largest customer in Europe, Germany's Deutsche Telekom, has argued against any blanket ban on individual vendors. So how will the UK ban on Huawei affect the European continent? Will EU countries take a similar line? If Europe followed the UK ban, what might it cost them? Carsten Stöcker, former Global Future Council Member of the World Economic Forum, shares his views.
