Beijing to lower COVID-19 emergency response level

Beijing is lowering its COVID-19 emergency response level after nearly two weeks of zero new cases. Starting next week, the emergency response in the Chinese capital will be down from level two to level three. In June, Beijing saw a resurgence of cases linked to a major wholesale food market. Local authorities shut down the market and raised the emergency response level. Mass testing was conducted to contain the spread of the virus.
