Hong Kong chief executive calls COVID-19 situation 'critical'

Carrie Lam, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), said on Sunday that the city had reported a record daily high of more than 100 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. The city is now facing a third wave of infections, forcing authorities to reimpose strict social distancing rules.
