Chinese Premier Li Keqiang vowed to strengthen communication and coordination with Laos to prepare the third Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Leaders' Meeting and continue expanding interconnectivity in the region.
Li made the remarks when holding a video conference with Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith on Tuesday.
Noting the third LMC Leader's Meeting was delayed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Li said the meeting sends an active signal that calls for win-win cooperation when tackling common challenges to other countries.
The Chinese premier spoke highly of China's relations with Laos, and wished to continue advancing cooperation on the China-Laos economic corridor and other major cooperation projects.
Thongloun, for his part, reiterated Laos' firm support to China on issues concerning its core interests.
According to him, Laos will continue to implement the action plan reached by the two sides on building a community with a shared future and work jointly to accelerate the signing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
