Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, on Thursday visited a residential community and a school for training community leaders in Changchun, the capital city of northeast China's Jilin Province.

"Grassroots communities are the foundation of China's governance system, and the leading role of Party branches at community level must be strengthened," Xi said.
