Christie's Auction House will auction off a list of 11 historic lots of NBA legend Michael Jordan's rarest game-worn sneakers in partnership with Stadium Goods.

Christie's has described the auction as "the most comprehensive sneaker record of Michael Jordan's era-defining Chicago Bulls career," according to CNN.

"This incredible sale, which is 11 pairs of Michael Jordan game-worn, signed player exclusive sneakers," said Caitlin Donovan, head of sales, handbags and sneakers at Christie's, noting that the pieces are "the rarest of the rare and it's really the most impressive collection of this sort ever to be brought to not just auction but the world."

The "Original Air" series will be available to bid at the upcoming auction. The top lot, a pair of Air Jordan 1 High worn by Jordan in 1985 in Italy, is estimated between 650,000 and 850,000 U.S. dollars.

Donovan noted that "this is probably the most significant piece to ever come to auction. Not only the significance in Jordan's career, the significance for Nike, but also the fact that it was authenticated and photo matched in the way it was."

It will also include the 1984's game-worn Air Ship sneakers are expected to fetch between 330,000 and 550,000 U.S. dollars. According to Christie's, the pair was sourced from a New Jersey Nets equipment manager.

Donovan revealed that the items for bid include Jordan's famous mismatched size 13.5 left shoe, and size 13 right.  

"What's interesting about a lot of these shoes is that Michael Jordan actually had two slightly different shoe sizes," she said, adding that "these shoes were really created and specified to make Jordan perform at his highest ability."

Jordan sneaker sales have taken off this year since the ESPN and Netflix documentary "The Last Dance" went on air. The popular documentary has renewed interest in Jordan collectibles.

In May, Sotheby's sold a pair of Nike Air Jordan 1s for 560,000 U.S. dollars, making them the most expensive sneakers ever sold.

"This highly-curated sale marks Christie's entry into a new collecting category that merges sports' history, art, fashion, and contemporary lifestyle following the great success of our Hype sale in December 2019," Aline Sylla-Walbaum, global managing director of luxury at Christie's, said in a statement.

The online-only auction will run from July 30 to August 13.
