Urban nature's healing moments: Ancient life thriving

The great efforts and the invested care put into lotus seeds planted hundreds of years ago and unearthed by Chinese archaeologists has paid off. These flowers continue to thrive and blossom after being planted in Old Summer Palace or Yuanmingyuan in Beijing. It has certainly added a touch of lively vibes to the ancient royal garden and an architectural masterpiece. Looted and burned down in 1860 and 1900 by aggressive forces of Western powers, this garden has been rebuilt from the ashes.
