The Nanjing Monkey Kings fought until the last second in their last game despite the fact that the result of this game did not matter much and the CBA restart season for them was haunted with injuries. Though Nanjing lost to the Fujian Sturgeons 123-122, they could leave holding their heads high. Joseph Young, Nanjing's biggest hero during the restart, dropped 53 points, five rebounds and 10 assists. His teammate Hamed Haddadi put down 18 points, 19 rebounds and eight assists. In response, Fujian's Huang Yichao scored 20 points, four rebounds, four assists and his teammate Wang Zhelin got 34 points, 24 rebounds. Wang also made the one-second game-winning jumper for Fujian.

In another game on Sunday, the Guangdong Southern Tigers continued their winning streak (29) after beating the Beijing Ducks 101-82.

The Shandong Heroes surprisingly lost to the Shanghai Sharks 98-89, dropping to 10th position on the table. Though such a result did not look good, it helped Shandong avoid meeting the leading giants, Guangdong Southern Tigers, too early in the playoffs. In the other game, Beijing Royal Fighters beat the Bayi Rockets 106-93 and there will be no change to the team's No. 7 ranking, which by the way, was the highest in the Royal Fighters' franchise history. There is a good chance that Shandong and the Royal Fighters will meet in the playoffs.

The Liaoning Flying Leopards claimed a big win over the Sichuan Blue Whales 126-79 on Sunday, ensuring that the team will be a top 4 seed despite its performance in other games. Guo Ailun, who played as a reserve in several games, returned to the starting lineup and scored court-high 32 points, three rebounds and four assists in 22 minutes.
