Continued flooding in east China's Jiangxi Province has forced a herd of milu deer to relocate after their old stomping grounds became submerged.

Milu deer is also known as the Pere David's deer, and is under first-class state protection in China.

In order to protect the habitat of wild milu deer in this region, conservation organizations have closely observed the health of the herd. Meanwhile, the local government also introduced policies to compensate farmers whose crops were damaged by the deer.
