Into Tibet 2020: Black-necked crane
01:17

More than 800 bird species have chosen to live in the Tibetan Plateau, making it one of China's reserves with the most bird species. The black-necked crane, the sole crane living in the earth's highlands, is as precious as the giant panda. They inhabit in marshes, lakes and river beaches on the plateau at an elevation of 2,500-5,000 meters. Local Tibetan residents regard the black-necked crane as a symbol of good fortune.
