HKSAR govt to allow daytime dine-in services at restaurants

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government on Thursday said it will allow local restaurants to provide dine-in services for customers from 5:00 a.m. to 5:59 p.m. starting July 31.

Restaurants should ensure a distance of at least 1.5 meters between customers and no more than two people per table, according to a government spokesperson.

On Wednesday, Hong Kong put into effect the cessation of dine-in services at catering businesses as part of efforts to tighten the social distancing for curbing the spread of the virus.

The city has reported a total of 3,002 cases of COVID-19 with 24 deaths as of midnight Thursday.
