An open day event was held by the China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC), on July 30 to brief international audiences on the progress of the Port City Colombo project. Themed "Port City Colombo - a World Class City for Future/Building Port City Colombo into a World-class City of Future", the event was presented via a vlog and livestream.

During the event, Sri Lankan hostess Indeewari Amuwatta guided visitors on a virtual tour around the exhibition hall and construction site of the project. She interviewed the site engineers on progress of the project, safety precautions and the life of workers there.
