With its environment improving, Qinyuan County is now one of the major habitats of the brown-eared pheasant, a rare bird species under first-class state protection in China. The Lingkong Mountain National Nature Reserve in Qinyuan is a home to the brown-eared pheasants. Improved ecological protection in recent years has led to an increase in the population of the species. About 3,000 brown-eared pheasants live around the Lingkong Mountain in Qinyuan County, statistics show.
