A little black bear gobbled up 7.5 kg of honey after sneaking into a bee farm in the middle of the night and breaking open the fence in Mianyang City of southwest China's Sichuan Province on Tuesday.

Security camera footage shows that the cautious bear "checked" the area before climbing up onto the beehives.

The city has reported several honey-stealing incidents by bears recently, with the animal devouring the sweet reward on the spot or sneaking the beehives for take-out.

The hungry critter has forced local authorities to promote insurance services for bee farmers.
