Over 65 percent of Americans disapprove of their president's handling of COVID-19, according to a new poll conducted by Ipsos in partnership with ABC News.

The survey found out that nearly two-thirds of Americans also disapprove of Trump's handling of the other two major challenges facing the country: the nationwide protests and the relationship with Russia.

When the coronavirus broke out in the U.S. in early March, the approval rate of Trump's response to and handling of the coronavirus stood at 43 percent, the poll shows.

Later on, despite some occasional ups, his approval rate eventually fell to 33 percent in earlier July, a record low since the survey began in March.

At the same time, his approval rate is also deeply underwater, standing at 36 percent.

As the election draws closer, Trump has consistently received support only from his own party and base.

The new poll shows that he got overwhelming support from Republicans over his handling of COVID-19 (74 percent), the protests (78 percent) and Russia (80 percent), while the Democrats' approval came only in single digits: 7 percent, 8 percent and 8 percent, respectively. In addition, only half of his loyalists – white, non-college educated Americans – approve of his handling of the three issues.

Moreover, 55 percent of white Americans, 92 percent of black Americans and 72 percent of Hispanics disapprove of his handling of the nationwide protests over the racial issue.

Overall, 52 percent of Americans believe Trump's response to protests exacerbated the situation and 19 percent believe it didn't work. Among Trump's loyalists, 37 percent of white non-college educated Americans say it made the situation worse.
