Yamdrok Lake: One of the three sacred lakes in Tibet
CGTN

Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, Yamdrok Lake is one of the three sacred lakes in Tibet along with Namtso Lake and Manasarovar Lake. The freshwater lake mainly lies in Nagarze County of Shannan Prefecture, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.

Yamdrok means "Jade" in Tibetan, which describes its clean water as seen in its fine blue jade color. There are 21 islands with different sizes scattering in the plateau lake, which are paradises for migrating birds.
