The famous Fenghuang ancient town in central China's Hunan Province has seen a surge of visitors since the tourism industry reopened in time for the summer holiday.

During this hot season, Fenghuang's ancient-style layout and cool natural environment make it a popular destination.

Comfortable weather in Fenghuang County creates development options for the local tourism industry. With the average annual temperature ranging from 12.6 to 16.7 degrees Celsius, the county boasts more than 3,333 hectares of bamboo forest, providing a good habitat for giant pandas.

Fenghuang has built a panda theme park, which includes a panda house, a panda hospital, a feed processing room, a tourist service center, a science museum and other supporting facilities.

The panda park has now eight pandas, transported from southwestern Sichuan Province on a special vehicle on May 29.

The pandas were first placed under observation in a giant panda protection center. All the rare animals are in good health. Two of them were born in 2000 and 2007, respectively and six others were born in 2017.

"The giant pandas are very cute, and they are the treasure of our country. We need to learn more about them and how to better protect them," said a young visitor.
