Foreign politicians criticize 'Cold War' mentality, provocative acts

In recent days, many leaders of foreign political parties have criticized some U.S. politicians' provocative acts and remarks against China, and said that the "Cold War" mentality should be discarded in their messages to the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

Simon Compaore, president of Burkina Faso's People's Movement for Progress, pointed out that the whole world now should join hands to address the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and other important global issues so as to maintain global peace.

Noting that China has achieved rapid development under the leadership of the CPC and its global influence is also increasing, he criticized that yet some countries still stick to the 'Cold War' mentality.

The Political Bureau of the Egyptian Communist Party (ECP) said that the intensified tensions will harm the efforts of the global countries, especially the developing countries, to develop the economy and fight against poverty.

Dogu Perincek, chairman of Turkey's Patriotic Party, said that Turkey firmly opposed the actions which aim to make the economic, military and political repression against China.

The Political Bureau of Lebanon's Union Party condemned the anti-China remarks of U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, stressing that his purpose is to weaken China's role as a counterweight to U.S. unilateralism in the international arena.

The Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party pointed out that practice has proved that solidarity and cooperation are more powerful than fighting alone.

The Communist Party of the Russian Federation criticized that Pompeo's remarks on issues related to China's Xinjiang, Tibet and Hong Kong are destructive and escalated the international tensions.
