The popular app TikTok has faced attacks from U.S. President Donald Trump, who has threatened to ban it because it's owned by ByteDance, a Chinese company. He claimed that the data collected in the app could be exploited by the Chinese government. China and ByteDance deny the allegations. Now, ByteDance is negotiating with Microsoft, which hopes to buy TikTok operations in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Apple is also said to be interested in buying TikTok.
