Into Tibet 2020: Dancing on Tibetan construction sites – hitting Aga clay
01:18

Aga clay is a unique building material on the Tibetan Plateau. Roofing or flooring made from Aga clay are so solid and cohesive and it will not collapse even if the supporting beams are broken. People who gather together when constructing buildings usually sing and dance while tamping the Aga clay surface in a happy and highly synchronous manner, a long-lasting tradition called hitting Aga.
