A border guard police unit rescued a trapped argali sheep during a routine night patrol on Sunday in Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The sheep's horns were stuck in a barbed wire of the pasture fencing. The police cut the barbed wire and set the animal free.

The argali sheep is under second-class national protection in China.
