U.S. President Donald Trump has signed executive orders to ban transactions related to the popular video app TikTok and messaging app WeChat. He claims they are threats to "the national security, foreign policy and economy of the United States." The executive orders have set off tension and discussion among WeChat and TikTok users in the United States.

CGTN spoke to Kathy Hao, attorney from Los Angeles County's TCW Global Legal Group, who said there is "panic" among users of both apps, but especially WeChat because it is used daily by people living there to contact their families and business partners in China.
