With the  transportation system in the Philippines suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a group of five wheelchair users decided to travel on their own for more than 100 miles to go back home. The Philippines has emerged as Southeast Asia's coronavirus hot spot. As of August 7, the Philippines reported over 120,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 2,168 deaths.
