China-U.S. tension over technology may soon directly affect people's daily lives. U.S. president Donald Trump signed an executive order on August 7 that puts the future of video sharing platform TikTok and communication app WeChat in jeopardy. Developed by China's tech giant Tencent, WeChat boasts 1.1 billion monthly users. If the ban comes to pass, iPhone users will have a difficult time connecting with others through WeChat. The choice between using WeChat and owning an iPhone is not an easy one. CGTN's Li Jiaming talks to residents in Beijing to hear their takes.
