India reports over 60,000 daily new COVID-19 cases 

A single-day spike of 62,064 COVID-19 cases and 1,007 deaths was reported in India in the last 24 hours, the health ministry said on Monday. 

A total of 2,215,074 infections have been reported in the country, with 44,386 fatalities. 

Over 24 million samples have been tested in the country as of Saturday, according to official data.
