The Chinese mainland will gradually resume the handling of residents' tourist endorsements for individual or group tours to the Macao Special Administrative Region, the National Immigration Administration (NIA) announced on Tuesday.

Starting from August 12, residents from Zhuhai City of south China's Guangdong Province will be allowed to process the services for the endorsements for Macao SAR.

Residents from other parts of Guangdong Province can apply to travel to Macao SAR from August 26. The entry-exit departments will resume processing of endorsements for residents in other parts of the Chinese mainland to travel to Macao SAR from September 23.

The NIA also noted that applications from residents in medium- or high-risk zones for COVID-19 or residents who travel to such areas within 14 days will not be accepted.

As of Tuesday, Macao SAR has reported a total of 46 cases of COVID-19 and all of them have recovered and discharged from hospitals.
