Farmland in northeastern China's Liaoning Province has been hit by drought, possibly the worst the region has seen over the past decade. About 18 million mu (120 million acres) of crops in Liaoning have been affected according to China's Ministry of Water Resources.

Experts at the Liaoning Meteorological Station say they have observed lower rainfall volume especially in the western regions of the province in comparison to last year.
