On August 11, flocks of reed parrotbill, a near-threatened bird species, were spotted in the reed marsh of Lianyungang City in east China's Jiangsu Province.
The reed parrotbill is a rare species found in eastern China. Continued degradation and land reclamation have threatened these birds, so the IUCN Red List designated them as "near-threatened." Thanks to the improvement of the local ecological environment, the reed parrot has become a resident in the wetlands here.
