CAAC suspends some international flights to Shanghai due to COVID-19
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) issued suspension orders of three scheduled flights Wednesday, including Etihad Airways Flight EY862, China Eastern Airlines Flight MU212 and Sri Lankan Airlines Flight UL866 after some passengers tested positive for COVID-19.
On August 3, the regulator suspended Etihad Airways Flight EY862 from Abu Dhabi to Shanghai for one week starting from August 17, after six passengers on the flight tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
On August 5, six passengers on flight MU212 from Manila to Shanghai, operated by China Eastern Airlines, tested positive, and the regulator issued a one-week suspension for the flight starting from August 17, the second such suspension.
On Friday, 23 passengers tested positive for COVID-19 on Sri Lankan Airlines Flight UL866 and the regulator suspended the airline for four weeks staring from August 17.
