Forest police in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region released 28 larks back into the wild.

The prairie bird is a popular caged bird, and thus is often captured from the wild and sold across the country, leading to its population decline. But it is important to the ecosystem, as it consumes over 40,000 pests every year, including locusts.
