Chongdu Village in central China's Henan Province has been lifted out of poverty and is developing prosperously thanks to rural tourism. A wildlife park was built in the village, making its rugged mountains and lush bamboo groves a great resort for tourists. By transferring the land-use right of the wildlife park, the villagers can gain both rent and dividends, and even get paid for working in the park.
China has a system of appointing officials from government organizations and public institutions in poverty-stricken villages to help and support local poverty alleviation.
