It is the peak season for mushrooms in Nanhua County, Yunnan Province, southwest China. Farmers are busy harvesting mushrooms in the mountains.

Generally, mushrooms grow at high altitude and are covered in vegetation. Therefore, only experienced farmers can find them.

The mushrooms are traded in a market called Nanhua, which plays an important role in the collection and distribution of wild mushrooms.

Nowadays, fresh mushrooms tend to be processed and sold in markets. In 2019, the trading volume of these mushrooms reached 8,567 tons and the turnover reached 687 million yuan. It is predicted that some 9,000 tons are to be traded this year, with a turnover of around 700 million yuan (about 101 million U.S. dollars).
