S China's Guangdong Province reports one new COVID-19 case
Shanwei City in south China's Guangdong Province on Friday reported one confirmed case of COVID-19, a 41-year-old female who works in an Alibaba-owned supermarket Freshippo in Shenzhen's Luohu District.
The patient took a bus from Shenzhen and travel to her hometown city of Lufeng in Shanwei City on August 6 with three children.
She developed symptoms in the following day and was turned to hospital on August 12. She was then quarantined after the hospital said she has a lung infection, according to a notice published by the provincial health commission.
As of Friday afternoon, a total of 3,184 people, including passengers on the bus she stayed, people living near her residence, and medical staff at the hospital have been tested.
Results of 1,105 samples have finished and three of them, all family members of the female patient, have shown positive results and are now treated as asymptotic people.
It's not clear if the three asymptotic people are her children who she traveled with.
Emergency response has been installed also in Shenzhen City, where she worked as testing and quarantine are ordered to people in her workplace and residence in the city.
Two of her workmates, one male and one female, have tested positive, Shenzhen health commission said on Friday night, adding the two are now quarantined.
The 41-year-old is a yogurt promoter in the Freshippo supermarket.
