Besides snowy mountains and vast pastures, glaciers are another natural beauty of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.

The Lagu Glacier, popular with tourists, is the largest and widest glacier in Tibet. It is located on the northern side of Ranwu Lake, one of the largest in eastern Tibet, and provides an inexhaustible water source.

The entire Lagu Glacier extends for around 12 kilometers, descending from a peak at 6,626 meters above sea level down to just over 4,000 meters. Lagu Village is a perfect spot to view the descending cascade of ice.
