A group of Tibetan macaques, led by their "king," foraged in a cornfield in Liupanshui Niangniangshan National Wetland Park in southwest China's Guizhou Province. They numbered between 140 and 170.

The Tibetan macaque is unique to China. With a population of more than 10,000, it is classified as "near threatened" on the IUCN Red List and is under national second-class protection in China.
