Herons in Beijing's Guanting Reservoir
CGTN

August is probably not the best time to watch birds in Beijing, but in the Guanting Reservoir, grey herons and great egrets can still be spotted.

The large wading birds are highly vigilant, keeping a distance of at least 100 meters from people.

Beijing is on an important migratory route for birds, so the waters here have become an important stopover for these creatures.
