Xi'an Bell Tower, one of the most popular historic heritage sites in the capital city of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, is under renovation. Xi'an Bell Tower was built in the Ming Dynasty, which is the largest, oldest and best preserved of the many bell towers left over from ancient China. The renovation focuses on restoration of the roof and the rafters. Because of weathering, some of the gold foil on the roof has fallen off and rafters have decayed.
