COVID-19 deaths surpass 50,000 in India

COVID-19 deaths have surpassed 50,000 in India, data published by the federal health ministry on Monday showed.

India has recorded a total of 50,921 fatalities as of Monday morning. Meanwhile, 57,584 people have recovered in the past 24 hours, taking the total of recoveries to 1,919,842, the ministry added.

India has the third highest number of infections globally with nearly 2.65 million confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
