Russia reports 4,748 new COVID-19 cases, energy minister tests positive for coronavirus
Russia reported 4,748 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, pushing its nationwide tally to 932,493, the fourth largest in the world.
The country's coronavirus crisis response center said 132 people had died of the disease in the last 24 hours, bringing the official coronavirus death toll to 15,872.
Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said Energy Minister Alexander Novak has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to Interfax news.
An energy ministry spokesperson said Novak would still participate in Wednesday's video conference of the OPEC+ group which includes Russia, RIA Novosti agency reported.
Several Russian political figures have been infected with the virus in recent months, including Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov and some ministers and lawmakers.
