League games including women's football, men's volleyball, and badminton are resuming in China. The three are starting the 2020 season from late August.

With health and safety as priority, the games will be held behind closed doors, and all personnel involved need to test negative for COVID-19.

The China Men's Volleyball Super League will resume on August 20 in Qinhuangdao, a coastal city in eastern China, finishing on September 2. The 14-day schedule is the shortest for this event in its history as the games are played in tournament style.

Broadcasting company Migu has made 5G an option for audiences who watch from their mobiles.

As for the Chinese Women's Super League (football), it is highly anticipated from fans to see China's football star, Wang Shuang, playing at Paris Saint-Germain last season, joining her hometown team Wuhan this year.

According to the Chinese Football Association (CFA), 10 teams will compete in Kunming, southwest China's Yunnan Province, from August 23 to October 11 behind closed doors.

The schedule is divided into two parts, the first till September 18 as the preliminary stage to decide for the last four, while in the second stage, the two with the highest rankings will ultimately compete for the title in a single game, the third and fourth for the third place. All other six teams will also be ranked.

Henan Jianye will square off against Wuhan Jianghan University in the league opener.

The China Badminton Super League will run behind closed doors from August 29 to September 14 in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province.

Players of the national team are expected to compete against each other representing a total of eight clubs. Since the global pandemic shut down sports games including badminton, these players haven't had much chance to play real matches, though they did not stop training since mid-March. This will be a good opportunity for them to examine and reflect on their training.

Schedules for league games this year are all shortened in one way or another, not just to comply with the current condition amid the pandemic, but also to leave enough time for the national team to prepare for Tokyo Olympics.

Among the three, the men's volleyball team have lost the chance to qualify for Tokyo Olympics. The women's football team so far have retained the Olympic dream till February 2021, when they will need to compete with their Korean counterparts for a spot.

The Chinese badminton team witnessed super star Lin Dan retiring earlier in July, but new stars are emerging, especially Chen Yufei as world No. 2 in women's single category, and Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong in the mixed double as world No. 1.
