China's giant Three Gorges Dam, built on the Yangtze River, will experience its biggest flood since it started to hold water in 2003. The peak inflow for the world's largest hydropower station is expected to be a staggering 74,000 cubic meters per second on Thursday. The dam has opened 10 of its gates to discharge water so as to get ready for more floodwater.
