Shenzhen F.C. defeated Dalian Professional 3-2 on Thursday to put an end to their embarrassing winless record of four straight games. Shenzhen led 2-0 in the first 20 minutes thanks to two goals by Gao Lin and Harold Preciado, but their happiness lasted less than half an hour as Salomon Rondon scored two goals in the 49th and 55th minutes, respectively, to make it 2-2 for Dalian. Zheng Dalun created a penalty for Shenzhen in the 73rd minute and John Mary made the game-winning shot for his team.

It should be pointed out that Gao Lin's first goal happened all thanks to Dalian's goalkeeper Zhang Chong's "butter fingers." In the 10th minute, Gao took a shot which was neither strong nor fast. However, Zhang Chong let the ball go through his defense and into the nets between his legs. Such a reckless mistake made Dalian trail 1-0 early in the game.

Guangzhou Evergrande edged over Jiangsu Suning 2-1 on Thursday night, returning to the top position in Group A. Guangzhou's ace shooter Wei Shihao sat during this game because of injury.

Guangzhou's Yang Liyu broke into the penalty area in the 24th minute before he was tackled down by the defender, creating a penalty kick for his team. Ai Kesen made it and helped Guangzhou lead 1-0. However, after 10 minutes, Guangzhou's defender Zhang Linpeng was ejected after receiving the second yellow card, leaving his team outnumbered on the field.

In the 54th minute, Alex Teixeira's passing led to chaos in Guangzhou's box. Eder took the opportunity to score, tying the game 1-1 for Jiangsu.

Neither side was able to create decent opportunities until the 84th minute, when Jiangsu's goalkeeper Gu Chao's clearance kick went to the opponents' midfielder Paulinho. Paulinho scored with a smart push, helping his team win 2-1.
